Last Saturday night I was bored and idle so I decided to visit all of the sites I could think of that I’m not allowed to view at work. So I started  with youtube. I looked at a few new funny videos then onto a few purveyors of soul namely Jill Scott, Alicia Keys, India Arie, Floetry, Musiq, Lauryn Hill and D’ Angelo.  

*Exhale and tilts head to the right* You know no woman can ever overlook  D’Angelo; I had to visit a song ….that same song I once subconsciously ignored all the lyrics  when I was nothing but a hormonal adolescent that was being  sidetracked with D’Angelo’s  fascinating eyes, succulent caramel lips, abs of steel and my urgent need to see below them. Anyone that’s been paying close attention to D’Angelo’s career knows that the “Untitled (How Does it Feel)” video was exceptional and so provocative and magnetic that no one could recover from it, least of all him. As I sat there in the darkness, once again I was overshadowed by his nakedness; he had definitely cast a spell on me because onto this day I’m still feenin his once black male mannequin body.

Since I made the big chop and decided to go natural I have been following curly Nikki’s blog. It is very informative she has many chic natural hair styles, hair tips, hair tricks and testimonials of the different hair care products [most of which I have no access to in Guyana but I used substitutes]. When you read her blog you will see that  kinky-curly hair is easy, fun and very economical to wear instead of a burden. So for all of my natural readers I hereby endorse my once secret hair blog CurlyNikki.

Yesterday I was speaking to my boy Stolly Molly and I showed him the new music video with Timeka and Busy Signal.  Then he said that it must be really hard to be her friend. Two minutes later I saw this post. Last night I saw another post where he asked readers to share what they would say to Timeka  if they were her friend.

Well if I were her friend, I would shrewdly encourage her to keep her enemies closer.

My Sundays are usually boring and quiet with no motivation or interesting places to go so I have decided to change that trend. 

I did my first hash run / walk. It was certainly what I yearned for…….. Adventurous! We hashed in Mon Repos’s back dam and Cane Filed then washed down with food and drinks (water for me) and the guys played cricket at the National park.

 Of course as a novice I went into false trails and can be deemed a straggler. Sly joined me and he too went on false trails but certainly wasn’t a straggler however, he was punished for being a sinner..lol.

So I got out of bed early this morning [mom wanted to call my sister from my phone because my sis wasn’t answering her number], took a shower, had a fulfilling and calorific breakfast [fried half ripe plantains with grated cheese on top and two poached eggs] just the way my momma knows I like it [I kinda like it when my big sis-see gives her trouble], brushed my 24, clad myself; felt no need for cosmetics on my face  because I was glowing and in a free-spirited mood so  I told myself that ill surely be rocking my black ballerina shoe that has a neat silver buckle on the front.

*Someone knocks on the front door*

Me: who is it?

Person: Raptus is me, Daniel. [He keeps the yard clean and tries to tidy and unify mommy’s garden but never succeeds because she is too stubborn and doubtful]

Mom: Raptus, please give Daniel this money.

Raptus:  * Holy shit! I need money to get to work* oh-ok mom, um I need money to get to work.

Mom: ok here..

Raptus: * hmm you are in a good mood, I wonder how serious your beef with my sis-see is ….Puts money in my skirt pocket* .  Here you go Daniel….and don’t come back. How many times do I have to tell you to beg dat woman in the afternoons and not in the mornings? You see, she only bless you with $2000.

Continued fixing my hair, put on the shoes, change my skirt because it was not compatible with the shoes; while doing so mom gave me my phone and bid me farewell then I rushed to get out of the house. While I was en route to the Vreed-en hoop Stelling I discovered the obvious, got a bit nervous so I swiftly maneuvered to call mom to rescue me because my debit card is in my other bag but I was out of credit…

The Guyana blog sphere is a place where I come to have a break from work and home. Whenever I visit  here I always look forward to a hearty laugh stemming from the musings, I like the intellectual book reviews which encourages me to read more and enlightens me about the hidden talents originated in the Caribbean, the short stories propels me, the art/ sketches/ pictures are intriguing, the adventures, vital information and the queer encounters some of the bloggers managed to vividly share.

Now it is in a deplorable and disgracefully depressing state. I hate to see it this way, we should be unified not trying to belittle, compete and indict each other. I was guilty of being naïve and of denigrating another fellow blogger until I recognized my shortcomings and was ashamed of my attitude so I mended swiftly. We are responsible for our actions and must control ourselves .

Even though we are different and dynamic we are one unit and we are intelligent enough to be familiar with our confederate’s attitudes and conduct hence we should respect one another.

Why do we desire such conflict?  Why do we feed it? Why do we abase ourselves like this?Why do we thrive on disunity? Is it worth it?

I had a troubling/emotional weekend with no internet access, no new DVDs and less importantly no significant amount of money. I was certainly feeling the need to enlighten myself with your lovely pictures so I couldn’t wait until today to browse the Mercenary’s old pictures and then onto the fresh ones on the Soul stealer’s and to my surprise you have closed your gates denying me, your friend access. What did I do to you? I must admit that I was too busy lately to give you a visit but that’s no reason to give me a cold shoulder.

I am going to do it; I have waited too long to start and continually do this vital regimen of life. Don’t get me wrong, I tried once but my demise was as a result of my hasty and hurried approach. Every time I recollect that episode in my mind I feel like I’m being forcibly submerged in a tank of water. If only I had started off by just doing some brisk walking instead of sprinting like I’m Marian Jones which led to  the relentless gasping for air.

Nevertheless, I plan to go at it again but this time when the place is shadowy and secluded, preferably before or at the crack of dawn.

According to my body mass index I’m overweight and from the look of things I have gained weight in all the wrong places. Even at 134 pounds my not so Africanized body structure has a zero tolerance for fat around my waist, thigh and on my abdomen.

So exercise here I come with great expectations, faith, forbearance and hopes.

Raptus says:                   In Guyana the Labor laws are old; as a matter of fact the entire judicial system is old; they need to reform the system instead of adding legislations to it. I think it is called the constitution…yes I think they need to change the constitution. What ever it is called it needs to be changed. I’m not familiar with those technical terms.

In response to Signifying Guyana’s posted article and Guyana911’s post on the topic of homosexuality.

As a Baha’i I would like to inform everyone that homosexuality is strongly condemned by Bahá’u'lláh (the glory of god; manifestation of god). The Bahá’í Writings do not point to the causes of homosexuality, although they do state that homosexuality is an “aberration“, and is “against nature“. Homosexuality can be conquered and the individual is expected to make an effort to overcome the affliction.

The Universal House of Justice said that homosexuality is highly condemned and often a great trial and cause of suffering to a person, as a Bahá’í. Any individual so afflicted must, through prayer, and any other means, seek to overcome this handicap. But, unless the actions of such individuals are flagrantly immoral, it cannot be a pretext for depriving them of their voting rights. When a person wishes to join the Faith and it is generally known that he has a problem such as drinking, homosexuality, taking drugs, adultery, etc., he should be told in a patient and loving way of the Bahá’í teachings on these matters. If it is later discovered that a believer is violating Bahá’í standards, it is the duty of the Assembly to determine whether the immoral conduct is open and scandalous and can bring the name of the Faith into disrepute, in which case the Assembly must take action to counsel the believer and require him to make every effort to mend his ways. If he fails to rectify his conduct in spite of repeated warnings, sanctions should be imposed. Assemblies, of course, must exercise care not to pry into the private lives of the believers to ensure that they are behaving properly.

I must add/ explain that It is believed that  like paraphilias, frotteurism, vaginismus, female orgasmic disorder, sexual masochism, sexual sadism, hypoactive sexual desire disorder,  transvestic fetishism, male erectile disorder etc it is viewed as a sickness/ disorder which can be cured via counseling, therapy, prayer and finally love for God. I believe that if you love God your willingness to please him will be unstinted which will automatically have a huge effect on your willingness to change and repair your condition. I believe that family and friends should not ignore the situation via hiding under the liberty shield. People fail to realize that if liberty should exist in its pure state the peoples of this world will eventually meet anarchy. I would also like to encourage persons to desist from discriminating anyone whether they are poor, wealthy, belongs to a particular race, religion, gender or sick. Those people like us do contribute positively to our society and economy.  I don’t know how many of you have noticed this but most of the outstanding, remarkable and successful people not forgetting some of the philosophers had/has a disorder or a queer illness of some sort. Many of us do know that it is not our instinctive compulsions make us who we truly are.

Stewps…i’m hungry, cranky, annoyed at the new hair sprouts on my body (the many moods of women).

This is the introductory post I did on my New Blog, which was created sometime ago.  I feel free to share it because I believe that this post will definetly connect with someone out there and  it will answer the pending questions many of my readers and blogging friends were asking  or were afraid to ask.

I am a complicated, conflicting and grotesque soul,at the moment three quarters of my soul wishes to change these attributes because the last thing I need is to be this way. It could be the death of me.

On Friday (26 June 2009) after almost three months of attending Baha’i meetings where I started the Ruhi book one, went to devotions and congregated with the Baha’is I have decided to become a Bahai. During the period which I learned more about this faith my thoughts about my loose lifestyle, downfalls, accomplishments……. all in all what I have become….became intense. So many things have contributed to making my inherent bad attributes to manifest themselves. The things I dreaded becoming I am, which led to me being  a crude person, I thrived on disunity, I was addicted to gossiping and backbiting until one day I woke up (figuratively speaking) with a feeling of guilt and was feeling the need to reject myself. I was in a bad place and was sick not physically sick….mentally sick. I made myself this way and I am responsible to fix myself. Meeting the Baha’is has been the best thing to ever happen to me and their timing was impeccable.

I must warn you, I am not healed, I have so much to learn and do and I need to most importantly discipline myself so that I can successfully cleanse myself and become a  devoted, loving and pure spiritual person. I am at the moment taking my medication (the word of god) and trying to put it into practice so in conclusion, my purpose for creating this blog is to chronicle the events and my thoughts during my voyage.

I spent last week at home, doctor’s order. The pretty cubaña at the public Health center gave me seven days after mutilating my big toe (infected ingrown nail) mom thinks that I’m a big baby because no one goes to the doctor for  petty wounds and injuries but that was my first ingrown and I did not know how to painfully take the nail out. Nevertheless, she likes it when I’m home, that way she can make use of every bit of energy I have to spare to get her desired chores done and a fresh meal cooked every day. So everyday she left a list of things to do forgetting that I was sick.

Anyways…while I was doing my mom’s chores and cooking to satisfy her cravings and not mine even though I’m the sick one I watched/ listened the television religiously and stumbled upon what I consider to be great news; they are saying that it is possible to teach your child between the ages of 3 months and 5 years the written word naturally and easily. O my dear Raptus I miss you so much…exhale…. I’m a wuss.

I said that you are conflicting with my beliefs but in order for me to become stronger I need to face you, correct you and live with you instead of shutting you out just to avoid handling the innate compulsions and behaviors that I have used you as an outlet to display. Thank you for making me feel free and awakening all of those emotions and thoughts that I have managed to keep dormant over the years but with the good came the bad.

Yep…i’m leaving. Going somewhere nice and private, so that I can grow as an indivudual and improve my spirituality which will benefit my precious soul. The nature of Raptus8 is conflicting with my spirituality I have said this before and at the moment I’m speaking with a friend and he is telling  me that I like Raptus8 too much to quit it and that he hopes that I wont do what Jay-Z did….LOL.

I was planning to leave after my first year but other commitments caused this process to hasten and it would be impolite to leave abruptly without a  notice. I’m contemplating whether or not to delete, restrict access or let this blog be…

OK…I change my mind about the new Miss Guyana Universe. Did anyone look at Prime News last night when one of the reporters asked Jenel Cox how she is feeling at the moment when she was sittting in what seems like a chair fit for royalty on the National Cultural Center stage?

The young woman replied by opening her mouth as wide as she can in a loud harsh high pitched tone like a 40 yr old  cantankerous woman from the ghetto saying ” o my gawd,I feel so ecstatic”…

Is that what Guyana has to offer to the world? I beg to differ.

That don’t seem sophisticated to me. Have you ever heard Olive Gopaul speak? I was shocked when I heard Pamela Dillon praising Jenel Cox on Capitol News last night. She of all people should know quality when she sees it or maybe she was being biased.

Since the 9 June 2009 Swine flu cases were suspected in this god forbidden country Guyana and now approximately one month after, we are told that all along one of the suspected swine cases have it. Now…….yes only now  the authorities are telling us that it is ok to fucking panic. One month after…… This goes to show how much care the representatives of this land have for the public health.  I would like to know  if  the suspected h1n1 cases were under quarantine or free to roam the streets during the period we had to await the tests results? What medication did the suspected persons received if any? Is this how you handle a contagious disease which has elevated to the pandemic status?

I am seriously considering to create a  migration plan.

1.The new Miss Guyana Universe supports Extra Judicial Killings? Gasp!

2. She is a loose character?  It is possible but I don’t know that for sure so ill keep thinking that she is a gem until further notice.

3. She is dumb and because she slept with someone she won? It is possible but again I dont know that for sure. Actually I heard this same rumor for the last Miss Guyana Universe and the one before that and the other one beofore that one…

4.She has a dirty mouth? what does the word dirty signify? If they are saying that she uses profane words… i do too …i’m sure all of the contestants do too but they do know that there is a time and place for everything and Jenel Cox has so far kept it that way.

Those are some of the rumors I have been hearing too often since she won, of them all i’m more concerned with # 1 does she really support Extra Judicial Killings?

Something upsetting is occurring on my blog.

The remarks my Timeka Marshall displeases me post is attracting are disruptive. I find that most of the female commenters are making wild allegations against Ms. Marshall which seems like a deliberate effort to defame her. Up to date these women did not give proof of what they speak of. Let it be known that Raptus hates this sort of behavior. If you cannot provide proof of what you speak, your contributions will not be welcomed.

Yes, you heard me it suck donkey balls, I just log in to check my updates and to find that somehow on June 15 or 11 I think  friend requests were automatically sent  to people that were deleted from my page and to persons that I despise intensly.

Scuff! Now those people are probably thinking that I want to be friends with them.

It was reported that “13 cases have aroused the Ministry of Health’s suspicion for H1N1. Five of those persons have been subjected to testing for H1N1 and that they have a low degree of confidence that any of these cases would be confirmed as H1N1. Therefore, only two cases remain as suspects at this time.”

I must say that it is grossly disappointing to know that our Health System is set in such a way that we cannot get a prompt confirmation of this contagious disease which has elevated to the pandemic status. We have no other option but to sit and await the results of the blood samples that were sent overseas.

I tell yuh this is the plight the people living in the thirdworld countries have to face.
